I agree that it is the responsibility of the human race to protect animals from extinction.

Humans have dominated the animal kingdom simply because our Intelligence Quotient (IQ) deems to be of a higher level compared to that of an animal’s, hence we have started exploiting animals to fulfil our narcissistic purposes.

On the other hand, it is true that the balance of life is structured by the survival of the fittest species and humans have no inclination to agonize over the fates of these creatures.

However, the methods and ways humans have used to triumph over the weaker species has proved to be detrimental for, not only the animals and environment, but us as well.

This essay will highlight on the crucial responsibilities we humans have to partake as this devastating rise of animal extinction is mainly brought about by humans.

Furthermore, the consequences of such chaotic behavior will either make or break human survival.

This is because ours actions does not only impact the future generations, but are also critical in maintaining the insubstantial balance of nature .

The fact that responsibility in protecting animals lies eminently in humans is due to the fact that we have depreciated the world beyond repair. Over the past century we have destroyed over half of the animal's natural habitat

Take a look at the wetlands, glaciers, rain forests and coral reefs left in unrepairable ruins.

Today, only three countries in the world -- Brazil, Canada and Russia -- possess 70 percent of the worlds remaining forests and less than 17 percent of the entire terrestrial surface of the Earth remains untouched by humans.

Furthermore, tropical rain forests now occupy less then ½ of the land that they did 100 years ago and coral reefs only occupy 5% of the earth.

These statistics clearly show the corruption human activity has had on the environment such as deforestation, logging, forest fires, agriculture, expansion of territories and the list is not exhaustive.

the thoughtless actions of humans has driven animals out of their own homes and left them to their own devices which has not proven to be of any match against our diabolical world because they simply are unable to adapt. we stand on the brink of a global extinction event. But the only difference is that this is being caused by the actions of a single dominant species rather than mother nature. Humans are part of Earth's great fauna, but we are her greatest menace.



Another reason why we should be held responsible is because we have ruthlessly domesticated of animals to benefit and improve our way of living. Without the aid of animals, our lives would be nothing but living hell. Imagine solely tilling fields on manpower alone or having to become test subjects for the evolution of medicine and various products. Animals have taken on the dirty work that we disregard and they are unable to retaliate. question yourself, is this even fair? domestication has brought about dire consequences such that animals that have been tamed have lost their feral instinct. if cats and dogs were ever to be released back into the wild, they would be mauled into pieces or die of starvation. this is a serious mistake on our part. to draw animals out of their habitats just for redundant wants such as companionship, humans have sealed an unspoken deal to keep animals from any harm whatsoever. however, look at the way animals are being treated by people today. they are a nuisance, a bother, and in some cases, just an entry card to a world of riches. they are not being treated appropriately and this usually leads to their deaths because they are simply too trusting and defenseless.

This matter is actually more serious than anyone can imagine. If humans, who brought about the taming of animals, do not protect the endangered species, then what will become of our morals? it will as equivalent Is there really a need to conduct these inhumane acts just to prove a theory?

It is essential that we re-examine ethically what we have inherited, what we are responsible for, and what we will pass on to coming generations. Our marvels of science and technology are matched if not outweighed by many current tragedies and the extinction of other life-forms. The exploration of space takes place at the same time as the Earth's own oceans, seas, and fresh water areas grow increasingly polluted. Many of the Earth's habitats, animals, plants, insects, and even micro-organisms that we know as rare may not be known at all by future generations. We have the capability, and the responsibility. We must act before it is too late.
